Due to the increasingly stringent requirements imposed on construction products, Gorter roof hatches recently underwent Soft Body Impact testing. In those tests, the largest roof hatches of the RHT type were subjected to, among other things, impact resistance testing according to EN 13049 Class 5 and the falling ball test according to EN 356 Class P5A. This confirms that the performance of all roof hatches in the RHT Series complies with the above EN standards.
Falling ball test for roof hatches
In the falling ball test the roof hatch is positioned horizontally and, according to the highest testing class (P5A), on three occasions a ball weighing 4.1 kg is dropped six times from a height of 9 metres. Each time the ball strikes, it may not tear or crack the roof hatch material.
