Roof hatch with scissor stairs for the Bahia Arena in Brazil
The Bahia Arena in Brazil is equipped with a Gorter roof hatch. The roof hatch is placed in combination with scissor stairs. This stadium hosts the World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016 and has a capacity of 56.500 spectators. The roof is made of lightweight metal and the structure of the roof reduces the use of steel between the 30% and 40%. The rainwater is collected from the roof and solar energy is used for heating. To service the solar panels on the roof, there is a Gorter roof hatch installed.
