Easy operation with free space underneath

Flexibility and safety

The combinations are ideal for applications where the roof is accessed occasionally or frequently. With the scissor stairs folded, you always have free space underneath the roof hatch. The Large and XL scissor stairs can be extended if required to bridge a ceiling void.

Scissor stair combinations are demonstrably safe

The roof hatch with scissor stair combinations is supplied with a TÜV NORD certificate in accordance with EN 14975, the "Type tested" label, and the Aboma safety seal. The reports can serve as substantiating documentation for the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E) required under the Dutch Working Conditions Act (Arbo). All RHT roof hatches are also CE (ETA) certified.

Bridging the ceiling void

If the scissor stairs are installed in a suspended ceiling area and bridging of the ceiling void is required, two or three bridging steps can be used to bridge up to 750 mm.

If the distance to be bridged exceeds 750 mm, an RHTS roof hatch with integrated scissor stairs and a casing height of 1000 mm should be used.

Electric scissor stair with roof hatch

The Large type scissor stairs are available with electric operation. With this system, the scissor stairs automatically extend or retract at the push of a button. Operation is controlled via the supplied wireless remote control, and the control unit features a safety function that prevents overloading or potential jamming. Watch the operation of the electric scissor stairs in the video at the top of this page. (1:08).

Electric operation for the roof hatch

In addition to electric operation of the scissor stairs, it is also possible to equip the RHT7014 roof hatch with electric operation. This involves mounting two powerful GT35 type motors on both sides of the lid.

High fire-resistant version

The RHT7014 roof hatch is available with fire-resistant scissor stairs with EI-60 classification (fire resistance class according to EN 1634-1, KOMO: SKG.0372.0457). The cover of the scissor stairs ensures a fire-resistant and flush finish with the ceiling.
With regard to fire safety, the hatch must be closed after use and remain closed.

Alternative fire-resistant roof hatches, 120 min. fire-resistant

Is a higher fire resistance class required? In that case, Gorter also supplies fire-resistant roof hatches with EI-120 classification.

Type XL: Roof hatch with scissor stairs for lift machine rooms

The Gorter roof hatch combination with scissor stairs type XL+ is specially designed for safe and easy access to elevated lift machine rooms and technical rooms. This roof hatch is supplied with an Aboma certificate confirming access to (lift) machine rooms in accordance with DIN-ISO 14122-3 standards.

With wide steps of 480 mm and a generous roof hatch with a clear opening of 1000 x 1500 mm, transporting materials to the upper room or onto the roof is made significantly easier. This makes the Gorter scissor stairs not only functional but also safe and user-friendly, making them an excellent choice for professionals who require regular access to technical rooms.
